Another Supreme Court Win

 From "CNN":

"The Supreme Court declined on Monday to take up a case from parents in Oregon who challenged a public school's policy allowing a transgender student to use the bathroom that corresponded with his gender identity.

The petition was considered a long shot because of several complicated threshold issues, including the fact that the policy had been put in place five years ago for one student -- referred to as "student A" -- who has since graduated from the high school located in Dallas, Oregon. At issue was an individualized plan drawn up specifically for "student A."
In declining to take up the petition, the justices left in place an appeals court decision earlier this year that held that the school's policy intended to "avoid discrimination and ensure the safety and well-being of transgender students."
Good news indeed!

Sarah McBride

From Washington (CNN)"Transgender activist Sarah McBride announced Tuesday that she's running for a Senate seat in her home state of Delaware.
Sarah McBride
McBride, 28, would become the first transgender person elected to a state senate if chosen to represent Delaware's 1st District. McBride made waves at the Democratic National Convention in 2016 as the first transgender person to speak at a major party convention.
McBride said that her campaign won't center on her identity, but instead hinge on expanding affordable health care and reforming the state's criminal justice system.
"A lot of people know me because of my advocacy in the LGBTQ community, but I want to be clear that that has not been my most formative experience," McBride told CNN on Tuesday.
McBride said the experience of caring for her late husband through a battle with cancer shaped her focus on health care, particularly her charge to increase access to paid family medical leave.
"I don't want anyone to go through that experience, but I also know that thousands of people are going through it every day," McBride said."
    Good luck Sarah!

    Transgender Racer

During our lives, most of us are busy trying to out run our own gender disorders. Charlie Martin is literally trying to do the same thing. From CNN:

"Standing amid the fevered atmosphere of the Le Mans 24 Hour race, Charlie Martin had an epiphany.
One day he wanted to race at the iconic French cathedral of motorsport -- home to the world's oldest endurance race that takes place again this weekend -- instead of watching rain-soaked from the sidelines.
But this dream was secondary to another, more urgent desire that beat inside his body like a pulse.
If he raced it would be as a woman.
      Charlie Martin
"Back then I wasn't even racing," Martin explained to CNN Sport. "But if you could have granted me any wish -- apart from changing my gender which was always the default answer -- it would have been to race at Le Mans.
"It is such a festival for petrol-heads and I came away spellbound; it was everything, the feat of endurance, what the cars go through, the scale of it in front of 300,000 fans."

      Still Serving

As you all probably know, I am a transgender veteran and am one hundred percent against "commander coward's" (Rump's) ban on transgender troops.

      Laila Ireland

Through my seemingly endless travels for blog information, I happened upon this CNN Politics report called "What it's like to be transgender in the military as new recruits are banned." For the most part, the article revolves around the relationship of the "Ireland's" a trans couple. Logan is a combat medic based out of Fort Carson, Colorado who has served missions in Afghanistan,
      Logan Ireland

His wife, Laila, transitioned while in the Army and now works at the Army Hospital in Colorado Springs. Logan had the support to transition from his command, Laila didn't,

Here you go, a human look at the problems caused on the front lines by a fat spineless jerk who has never served.

For the record I think,  at one point in time you could grandfather yourself in as transgender in the military. Now though, since the deadline has passed you need to either leave the service or go back in the closet.

      Sad.

      Cyrsti's Condo Remember?

New York Magazine photo of Tracey "Africa" Norman - first black transgender modelFrom CNN:  Before there was Caitlyn Jenner, Laverne Cox or Jazz Jennings, there was Tracey “Africa” Norman.
In the mid-1970s, Norman was the face of Clairol’s Born Beautiful hair color (No. 512, Dark Auburn). She had an exclusive contract with Avon. She did several photo shoots with Essence. She was a house model in Balenciaga’s Paris showroom.
She had also been born male, although almost no one knew her secret, a story she told in the latest New York magazine.
An African-American model already facing discrimination based on her skin color, she knew that any hint that she was also transgender would have ended her career and could have led to her death.
When word did eventually get out, the work dried up.
“I was a model, so males and females were attracted to me, and when they find out that I’m not what they perceive me to be, it freaks them out,” she told the magazine. “That’s what I’ve experienced in my life, what I was getting from straight women and straight men.”

      Kristin Beck Speaks Out

CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 seems to have cornered the first Kristin Beck interviews I have been able to see.

Go here for an inside look how Kristin was able to live her life as a Navy Seal. Much of what she says sounds very familiar. If you were a transgender vet or not!
