Party Down?

One of few remaining cis-female long term friends I have has been pushing me to meet with her.  "I need to talk to you!" is the quote.
I like her a lot...she is one of the few women I know who shares much of the same life experience (non gender related). In addition, she is very quick intellectually and we share the same off the wall sense of humor.
I almost got out of guy drag and let her meet my real self nearly a year ago and didn't.
I'm considering meeting her as me in a pub I've gone to in guy drag for at least 25+ years.
I just don't know if all are ready for the "coming out party"!

Behind the Pretty Curtain

"If you can't beat them, join them" and if you are going to join, you need to know the rules".
Learning the rules to earn membership into the "Cis-Woman" world is not an easy process. No matter how feminine you appear, mental mistakes will easily get you rejected. Constantly I attempt to get behind the "pretty curtain" to learn tips women tell women. It is certainly not all that difficult to find any number of places.
I've mentioned to all of you the fascination I have with a couple of sites I subscribe to. (free) One is part of "The Frisky" called "FLBL", "For Ladies., By Ladies." The latest article linked here is about 5 things women keep secret the most. Another site Is "Betty Confidencial.com." I fell in love with an article about "what men are attracted to in a woman."  If I'm going to play in their sandbox, I need all the help I can get and then some!
Of course these sites add different female directed features such as fashion, make up and gossip. Once I pull something of importance to me from one of these places, I head to "Fabulous after 40" for tips on how to make it work for me,
As I said a number of times before, if I'm identified as trans..I want to be at my best!

Living In A Cave?

Are you just tuning in? Those would be the only reasons you probably haven't heard of "Andrej Pejic"...the very beautiful male model.
Andrej tuned up the heat a little hotter this week when he said he would have a sex change for a "Victoria's Secret" contract. (Follow the story here: http://www.thefrisky.com/post/246-the-prettiest-girl-on-the-runway-is-a-boy/ )
Can you imagine the PR people at "Victoria's Secret"? What could they gain? Massive publicity. All good? Probably not, even in our own community.
Would you go for it? I would in a second if I was that drop dead gorgeous. I have no idea what a "Victoria's Secret" contract is worth but I'm sure it would easily cover the cost of the surgery. Obviously he doesn't need much of facial feminizing work or even electrolysis.
The only concern is he would look too much like a woman with the curves, he wouldn't be in demand anymore!

Dressing Your Age!

One of our pet "peeves" on the blog is our problem with "dressing our age"
As you've probably noticed, I have subscribed too and become a fan of "Fabulous after 40".
One of the women who writes the blog came up with these sets of rules after a fashion failure on a night out:

• I will do my “homework” before going out. (That means googling the place)
• I will wear high heels.
• I will make sure my outfit is youthful, but not like I’m trying too hard.
• I will stop comparing myself to younger women! (I am going to be happy to be me!)
• I will post a photo for you all to see.

When you are going somewhere new, the internet is a wonderful tool.  I should have just googled Nic’s Martini Bar before I got dressed and then pushed “Images”. Usually up pops what the inside of the place looks like, and sometimes it will even show images of people there.
We Glam Gals are firm believers that what you wear will and can give you more confidence, energy and possibly even help you have more fun.
There you go girls. You can be gorgeous at any age. Someone will be looking!

Football Fashion Tip!

All you "hose and heels" girly girls can put the 3" heels away for the big game this year, unless you want to wear them with a pair of "skinny" jeans and your football jersey.
Latest figures estimate that up to 40% of all NFL fans are now women. Sales of women's NFL apparel is on an all time high.  The favorite seller is Dallas Cowboy QB "Tony Romo". If you don't like the Cowboys just pick "Peyton Manning" or maybe even "Aaron Rogers" of the "Packers". The only unpopular choice could be the "Steelers" Rothlisberger but you can always pick "Palamalu". He has the hair we all want.
Speaking of hair girls, don't worry so much about yours! Read this "Frisky" post about the new look which will fit in perfectly with your football look.

It's easy to become too serious about the transgendered situation in the world!

Getting "Frisky"!

Ahhh! Not what you think girls (dammit). Again I've been scanning the "Frisky" site for little gems of gender wisdom. If you haven't been there yet."Frisky" is a tamer version of "Cosmo" Magazine.
I read many of the articles comparing what each gender likes and dislikes about each other. Then I try to relate it to my unique position in life.
My latest find was "The Ten Commandments for Dating Guys."Without going into too much detail, the article goes into some of the more "masculine" knowledge women use to attract men .
Of course my mind thought "here are some more reasons for guys to like trans girls"!
Ok, the easy ones. Being a good driver (leaves me out) and knowing your brown liquors such as whiskey's. bourbon's and scotches. Being a good cook is here too. (I can excel here!)
The" could but wouldn't" categories include wearing cotton underwear and being handy around tools.
The "not a chance" section includes yoga and downloading torrents. I probably should do yoga and I barely know what a torrent is.
Quoting "Frisky", guys are "men are both exceedingly complex and irritatingly simplistic creatures." Our backgrounds allow us to cut through much of the male complexity then adds it all back in spades.
On the other hand, none of this should be so complex that we shouldn't have some fun with it and a little extra research shouldn't hurt!

The Eyes Dont Have it!

Maybe all the time and effort I've been putting into my eyes is  mistake?

Dark and Sexy!

In the winter part of the world, darker hair just seems to fit the seasonal mood.
Your look can begin with those new black boots you just had to have. Tuck those skinny jeans into the boots and slide into that "oh so" soft black sweater that falls over your hips.
Pull that black leather jacket out of the closet and you are sexy and set. right?
